A Community Emergency Management Planning Workshop will be held at the Willaura Memorial Hall on Monday 20 October, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
Run by emergency management specialists The Six C's, the workshop will focus on practical, locally relevant strategies to help the Willaura community prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergency events.
The workshop will be hosted by Ararat Rural City Council, with support from Emergency Management Victoria, and is part of a broader series being delivered across the municipality.
Mayor Cr Jo Armstrong said pleasingly, the workshops held so far had been booked out. "The recent sessions in Elmhurst and Pomonal were strongly supported by residents, and both communities were able to successfully create their own Community Emergency Management Plans," Cr Armstrong said.
"Likewise, the upcoming session at Willaura is an important opportunity for residents to contribute to realistic, community-driven plans that improve local preparedness and resilience."
