Help sought to identify Melbourne market burglar

Detectives from Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance to identify a man following two burglaries at a Melbourne market.

The first incident occurred at the Victoria Street market about midnight on Saturday morning, 12 February.

The man forced entry to a shop near the corner of Elizabeth and Therry streets and stole approximately $2200 cash before fleeing.

The same man is also believed to be responsible for an incident at the same location about 6pm on Sunday, 6 March.

On this occasion, the offender used an angle grinder to gain entry to a shop before fleeing with approximately $6000 cash.

Investigators have released images of a man who may be able to assist with the investigation.
