Help To Buy Passes Tasmanian Parliament

Tasmanian Government

Enabling legislation for the Australian Government's Help to Buy program, similar to the Tasmanian Government's MyHome Shared Equity program, has passed the Tasmanian Parliament.

Minister for Housing and Planning, Kerry Vincent, said this opens the door to greater homeownership.

"I am pleased to see the enabling legislation for Help to Buy successfully pass the Tasmanian Parliament," Minister Vincent said.

"Help to Buy will complement our highly successful MyHome Shared Equity Program, which has already helped over 1,000 households.

"I want to again thank the constructive approach from my Federal colleagues for helping us get to this point.

"This Liberal Government is delivering more housing options for more Tasmanians."
