Helping seniors connect

Camden Libraries' popular Tech Savvy Seniors program is returning, once again helping seniors develop the skills and confidence to get connected and participate in the online world.

The FREE program aims to increase digital inclusion, reduce social isolation, and increase access to government information and services among seniors.

Tech Savvy Seniors NSW is a partnership between the NSW Government, the State Library of NSW and Telstra.

Sessions will cover topics such as:

  • Browsing the internet;
  • Using email to communicate;
  • Cyber safety; and
  • An introduction to the Seniors Card and transport apps.

Seniors can register to attend all sessions or just the ones that interest them.

Tech Savvy Seniors will run on Thursdays at either Oran Park or Narellan Library between the following dates:

  • 7 September - 9 November 2023;
  • 1 February - 11 April 2024; and
  • 2 May - 27 June 2024.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney encouraged seniors to take part.

"Due to the popularity of this program last time, we just had to bring it back for returning and new attendees to get all the knowledge they can about being online," she said.

"It's important that our seniors are not only connected with others digitally, but that they are able to do it safely and that's why I'm so proud that this program is returning to Camden."
