Heroes Bringing Spirit To Our Community

Eurobodalla is full of people helping their neighbourhoods and beyond though compassion, vision and grit. Now, it's time to celebrate these local legends as nominations open for the 2025 Local Hero Award.

Mayor Mathew Hatcher says the award is an opportunity for the community to come together once a year and celebrate the champions next door.

"The Local Hero Award is about sharing inspiring stories from all over the shire and honouring those residents who make us proud to live here," said Mayor Hatcher.

Established in 2018, last year's Local Hero Award was jointly given to Jan Frikken and Maricel Ceniza who were recognised for their dedication to promoting inclusion within Eurobodalla's multicultural community.

"Even though there might be many nominees, they all share qualities that bring us together," Mayor Hatcher added.

Nominations are open until Tuesday, 30 September. All nominees will be invited to the Mayor's Charity Ball in November where the winner will be announced.
