A man who fell 30 metres down a cliff in the Grampians has escaped serious injury, after being rescued by CFA firefighters.

Mt Arapiles is a popular climbing spot

The man was hiking Mt Arapiles when he fell, becoming wedged between rocks on Watchtower Crack Climb.

A local climbing group assisted CFA crews to find the man, before a high angle rescue was carried out.

Crews reached the man, securing a line and helping him up the cliff face.

The climber was treated at the scene by Ambulance Victoria.
