High-end wine stolen from Northcote restaurant recovered during warrant

Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man and uncovered 21 bottles of allegedly stolen wine following an ongoing burglary investigation.

It is alleged 21 bottles of limited-edition collectable wine was stolen from a High Street restaurant in Northcote between March 2017 and October 2019.

This morning, detectives executed a search warrant at a South Yarra address and uncovered the stolen wine before arresting a 28-year-old man.

The South Yarra man was interviewed and charged with theft, handle stolen goods and possess drug of dependence.

He was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 2 February 2021.
