High range drink driver at Torbanlea, QLD

Police have charged a man with high range drink driving after allegedly being caught almost seven times the legal alcohol limit at Torbanlea yesterday, Queensland Police say.

Around 3.40pm police intercepted a vehicle on the Bruce Highway after receiving information from a concerned member of the public.

Police conducted a breath test where the driver allegedly provided a positive result and was transported to Maryborough Police Station for further testing.

At Maryborough Police Station, it is alleged the man provided a breath alcohol concentration of 0.332%.

The 45-year-old Pacific Haven man has been charged with driving under the influence of liquor and will appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on January 11.
