Officers from Toowoomba Highway Patrol Unit have charged a 17-year-old boy following an intercept at Preston on 4 December.
It will be alleged around 1.30pm, police intercepted a 2008 Mazda 3 after it was observed travelling at 127km/h in an 80km/h zone on Preston Boundary Road.
The teenager was issued a Traffic Infringement Notice (TIN) for exceeding the speed limit by more than 40km/h resulting in a $1919 fine, the loss of eight demerit points and a six-month licence suspension.
Police are urging motorists to drive with care, even on rural and remote roads.
