High Risk incident resolved at Plympton Park, SA

Police have taken a man into custody following a high risk incident on Marion Road at Plympton Park, according to SA Police.

Police patrols were called to the motel just after 2.30 this morning, following reports of a man causing damage to the motel.

The agitated man moved several times between the unit and the roof, and threw several motel room items from the balcony unit towards police.

Police Star group officers attended, while police negotiators attempted to resolve the incident.

Just after 6.30am, the 28-year-old man was taken into custody, he's been conveyed to the Flinders Medical Centre for a mental health assessment.

There were no other persons in the motel room with the man.

Some motel residents were evacuated from neighbouring rooms. There are no reported injuries.

Marion Road has been reopened to all traffic.
