Hills Basketball Association to manage Bernie Mullane Sporting Complex

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne is pleased to announce that Hills Basketball Association (HBA) will manage Bernie Mullane Sports Complex, gymnasium and netball courts from Monday, March 8 2021.

From this time, the venue, located in Kellyville, will temporarily close for a period of approximately 4 to 6 weeks to allow for renovations.

During the closure the HBA will undertake works to refurbish the indoor courts, expand the gym and reconfigure the foyer. Works to upgrade the café and resurface the netball courts are also scheduled in the near future.

There will be a significant upgrade to the indoor courts to make the space suitable for wheelchair sports. It will include a new timber sports floor and top-quality glass backboards.

"I would like to thank Belgravia and their staff for their commitment to running the Centre at Bernie Mullane for the past six years," Mayor Byrne said.

"I would also like to congratulate the HBA in their successful bid to manage the complex over the next five years.

"The HBA has a proven track record and excellent experience in managing similar sporting facilities here in The Hills, and I am confident that the complex will significantly add to the quality of our sporting facilities for use by residents," Mayor Byrne added.
