Hobart man issued with Covid-19 non-compliance infringement

Police have issued a 45 year old Hobart man with an infringement notice for failing to follow directions of the Director of Public Health.

The man, who arrived in Tasmania from Melbourne on 19 April, had allegedly refused to complete required E-Travel documentation, provided a false details to Bio Security staff, and refused to wear a mask within the Hobart International Airport precinct.

The infringement carries a penalty of $774.

Tasmania Police is focused on ensuring the safety of all Tasmanians and urge anyone with concerns regarding non-compliance of current public health directions to contact the Covid-19 Hotline on 1800 671 738.
