The Lott

A Hobart man who purchased his ticket at the last minute and a mystery Hervey Bay player who may have yet to discover they're now a multi-millionaire have shared tonight's $40 million Oz Lotto jackpot.

There were two division one winning entries nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1695 on Tuesday 11 August 2026. Each division one winning entry pocketed $20 million.

"Holy smokes!": Hobart man erupts into tears upon $20 million revelation

A Sorell man couldn't help but burst into happy tears after discovering he's now one of Australia's newest multimillionaires.

The Tasmanian was oblivious to his win until we called him tonight immediately after the draw.

"Wow! Unbelievable!" he exclaimed.

"That is life-changing! It's come at a really good time.

"I'll paint you a really good picture of what that means for us. We've been renting and have been looking for another house to move to. This is like - now we'll just buy a house!

"I'm also getting close to retirement so that's something we can look at now. We'll probably do some travelling overseas too. I've always wanted to go to Texas and Arizona.

"Holy smokes! I appreciate the call. Geez, I'm shocked. I'm so happy. It's just a weight off your shoulders.

"You're god!"

Remarkably, his winning ticket almost didn't happen at all. Held up at work, the man made a last-ditch run to his local outlet and bought an entry he wouldn't normally play, just before the doors closed for the night.

"I struggled to get to the newsagent tonight. I was late from work and got there in time - a couple of minutes before closing," he explained.

"I also normally play a standard QuickPick ticket, but this time, we filled out the form. My partner picked some numbers and I added some."

His winning marked 9-game entry was purchased at Sorell Lucky Agency, 31 Gordon Street, Sorell.

Check your tickets, Hervey Bay: Mystery player pockets $20 million

A Hervey Bay resident or visitor has become an overnight multi-millionaire, but may not realise it.

The elusive Queenslander held an unregistered ticket that scored $20 million in tonight's Oz Lotto draw.

If the winner had been part of The Lott Members Club and registered their ticket to a player card or online account, they would have been alerted to their good fortune this evening.

Instead, we're eagerly waiting for the ticketholder to check their ticket and come forward.

We're urging all Hervey Bay players to check their entries as soon as possible. If you discover you are holding the division one winning ticket, please contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize!

The entry was purchased at Nextra Fraser Gateway Newsagency, Shop 22-23 Stockland Shopping Centre, 6 Central Avenue, Urraween.
