The City of Hobart is inviting Expressions of Interest from organisations interested in managing and activating Hobart City Hall, with the goal of increasing its use, enhancing community access and improving long-term financial sustainability.
The City is seeking an anchor tenant, venue operator or consortium capable of transforming the heritage-listed building into a vibrant year-round destination while maintaining its important civic and community functions, and as an emergency evacuation centre when required.
Acting Lord Mayor Dr Zelinda Sherlock said the EOI represented an exciting opportunity to unlock the potential of one of Hobart's most iconic public buildings.
Currently hosting around 20 to 25 events a year, City Hall forms a key part of Hobart's Civic and Cultural Precinct and has been identified as a major opportunity for revitalisation.
