Did you know there are more than 6,000 businesses operating in Hobsons Bay? The Hobsons Bay Business Has Heart program will promote the many local businesses operating across the municipality and support them to survive, recover and thrive.
Hobsons Bay Business Has Heart will provide a targeted response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and builds on the sense of local community support and connection many people are feeling during this time. A range of initiatives to support local business communities will include:
- business grants
- business precinct promotion and free marketing collateral and support
- support for local events and activities
- profiling local business precincts across Hobsons Bay
- links to local suppliers and services
- opportunities to connect and collaborate with other local businesses
The initiative builds on feedback from Hobsons Bay businesses and their lived experience during the pandemic so far. It will showcase our local businesses, the traders behind our favourite shops and the positive impact shopping in Hobsons Bay can have on local communities and families.
The program forms a part of the Council's third community support package worth $3 million, as endorsed by the Council's 2020-21 budget this week.
Keep an eye out for the Hobsons Bay Business has Heart grants opening in September. The application process will be designed to be quick and easy with the aim to deliver projects as soon as possible.
