Hobsons Bay City Council has developed a new initiative to combat the significant disruptions COVID-19 has caused to the wellbeing of many of our community members.
Hobsons Bay Community has Heart will support people in need while empowering the community to also reach out and help others. Within the program is the newly-launched Community Connector. Community Connector engages trained Council staff to link members of the community who are in need with a wide range of services. Support services include food hampers, pet food, medications and nappies, access to cleaning supplies and masks, social activities, employment and training information, CALD support, counselling, mental health and domestic violence support services, aged care, family and library services.
Individuals and businesses are also encouraged to donate goods, services or funds to help people in need. Council will also use the initiative to help connect volunteers and others who would like to support our community.
