Hockeyroos athlete Rachael Lynch added an extra incentive for her team-mates during their Olympic campaign when she pledged to donate $100 to Lifeline for every goal scored.
"I know a lot of people from all walks of life are doing it tough at the moment and the Lifeline donation was another way to motivate the team and contribute to a good cause," said Rachael.
"The Olympics were an amazing experience and I was so proud of my team. The support we received was incredible so it's important to me to find ways to give back," she said.
No stranger to epic fundraising efforts, Rachael has previously walked the Kokoda trail and rode from Perth to Albany to raise funds for other mental health charities.
Rachael is a nurse and has always had a strong interest in mental health. She is also part of the AIS Lifeline Community Custodian program, which aims to help increase awareness around suicide prevention and encourage anyone who needs support to reach out and ask for help.
With the Hockeyroos scoring 13 goals, Rachael donated $1,300 and has set up her own fundraising page to encourage organisations who request talks/sessions from her over the coming weeks to donate to Lifeline in lieu of an engagement fee.
