Homicide Detectives Seize Car in Mal Seve Shooting

Homicide detectives investigating the fatal shooting of Mal Seve in Blacktown last year have seized a car in Sydney's south-west.

About 11.50am on Friday 28 November 2025, police were called to Carinya Street in Blacktown following reports of a shooting.

Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command attended and found a 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and leg.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.

The man has since been identified as Mal Seve.

Following the shooting, police engaged in a pursuit with a Mazda utility seen leaving the scene.

The pursuit was terminated before the car crashed on Kildare Road.

Two men were subsequently arrested. They were charged and remain before the courts.

Police established a crime scene and detectives attached to State Crime Command's Homicide Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Depew.

As part of on ongoing inquiries, about 7.45am yesterday (Thursday 30 April 2026), strike force detectives – with assistance from the Public Order & Riot Squad – executed a search warrant in Wedderburn.

At the address, police seized cloned plates, fired cartridges, CCTV, and a suspected stolen vehicle.

The items were seized to undergo forensic examination.

Investigations under Strike Force Depew continue.
