Homicide Investigation At Brooloo

A 61-year-old man is currently under police guard in hospital and assisting detectives with their enquiries as part of an ongoing homicide investigation at Brooloo today, May 26.

Police and emergency services were called to Callemonda Road and Mary Valley Road at Brooloo shortly before 2pm, Monday, May 26, to reports of a single vehicle traffic crash.

Upon arrival, officers located the Suzuki sedan severely damaged after crashing into a tree.

A man in the front passenger seat, and a woman seated in the back, were declared deceased at the scene.

The driver, a 61-year-old man was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with serious injuries.

Following further investigations, the man was arrested by detectives from Nambour Criminal Investigation Branch and remains under guard in hospital.

Anyone who may have relevant information leading up to the crash or dash-camera footage is asked to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
