Detectives have launched a homicide investigation following the death of a child in Moore Park Beach this afternoon.
Police and emergency services were called to a residence on Regency Road about 4.45pm.
A three-year-old girl was located unresponsive and declared deceased at the scene.
A crime scene has been declared and investigations into the circumstances continue.
A 32-year-old woman is currently assisting police with their enquiries as part of an ongoing investigation.
The child and woman are known to each other, however police are unable to provide anything further on the relationship at this stage.
