Homicide Investigation Launched in Christchurch's Phillipstown

As stated by Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves

Two people have died and two others are in custody following a serious incident in Phillipstown, Christchurch this morning.

Police were called to an address on Olliviers Road at about 12.50am.

Two people died at the scene, while two others were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Two other people are in custody assisting Police with enquiries.

Police believe this is an isolated incident and are not seeking anyone else in connection to this matter at this stage.

Police want to reassure the public there is no risk to their safety but also appreciate this incident will be deeply upsetting and unsettling for those who reside in the area.

Residents should expect an increased police presence in the coming days and appreciate their co-operation as scene examinations continue.

Police ask anyone who may have seen anything or may have CCTV of the area to contact 105 and quote file number 261010/6589.
