Homicide investigationin Brisbane City

Police are investigating the death of a 16-year-old teenage boy in Brisbane City last night.

Initial information indicates around 8pm the teenager suffered a life-threatening wound to his stomach when he was confronted by another male, believed to be known to him at Emma Miller Park.

It's understood the teenager continued walking towards King George Square, where he collapsed.

The other male left the scene prior to police arrival; patrols were conducted however he has not been located.

The teenager was located by police and transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Sadly, the teenage boy succumbed to his injuries a short time later in hospital.

Two crime scenes have been established.

Detectives from Brisbane City Child Protection Investigation Unit continue to investigate.
