Homicide Squad investigate Meadow Heights shooting

Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for information following the shooting death of two men overnight.

The alarm was raised after police received reports gunshots were heard in the Meadow Heights area about 10.10pm.

Attending police found two men, a 40-year-old in Huntly Court and a 28-year-old in Morris Court, injured and suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

Both men died at the scene.

Homicide Squad detectives have been at the scene overnight and into today investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which remain unclear, with the Major Crime Scene unit processing the scene.

Our investigations indicate that the parties may be known to one another, the incident was not random in nature and has escalated into violence.

Detectives believe there were other people present at the scene at the time of the shooting and are appealing for them to come forward

At this stage there is no evidence to suggest that the shooting in Meadow Heights is linked to two other separate shooting incidents in Kensington and Dandenong in recent days.
