Hospital damaged; man charged, NSW

Police have charged a man after a Central Coast hospital was maliciously damaged overnight, NSW Police say.

About 11.20pm (Wednesday 11 July 2018), a man was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Gosford, for treatment.

The man was removed by security shortly after following a disturbance in the emergency department.

The man returned to the hospital and allegedly turned on a fire hydrant causing significant damage and disruption to the hospital.

Security detained the man and police were notified.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District attended and arrested a 20-year-old man.

He was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with destroy or damage property.

The man was refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court today (Thursday 12 July 2018).
