Hospital disturbance, man charged in Campsie

A man will appear in court today after a disturbance at a south west Sydney hospital last night, NSW Police say.

Just before 9.15pm yesterday, emergency services were called to a hospital in Campsie, after reports of an aggressive man.

Police have been told the man had been allegedly interfering with staff assisting a woman in the birthing unit.

The man allegedly refused to leave and staff temporarily relocated other patients and their families.

Officers from Campsie Local Area Command attended the hospital.

During a physical confrontation, police used a Taser to subdue and arrest the 25-year-old man.

The man was taken back to Campsie Police Station and charged with behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal), resist officer in execution of duty, and assault officer in execution of duty.

He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today.
