Hotel hold-up at Exeter, South Australia

Police are investigating a hold-up at a hotel at Exeter overnight.

Just before midnight on Sunday 3 March, a man armed with a knife and baseball bat threatened staff in the gaming room of the Exeter Hotel on Semaphore Road and stole cash. He also stole cash and cards from a staff member's purse before leaving through a rear door.

One of the staff members was hit with the bat during the robbery and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The suspect is described as tall, about 190 cm tall, slim build, wearing full length white overalls, dark shoes and covered his face with a skull mask.

Police searched the area with the assistance of Police Dog Iggy, who picked up a track from the hotel, but lost the scent in Young Street.

CIB detectives and crime scene investigators attended and examined the scene overnight.
