How's the view? Coolum and Yaroomba see the benefits

The stunning views offered from beaches and headlands at Coolum and Yaroomba are easier for the community to access and enjoy following the addition of two new viewing platforms and upgrades to seven beach accesses.

Division 9 Councillor Steve Robinson said the upgrade projects made it easier and safer for people to walk down to the area's beaches.

"These projects ranged from a completely new set of stairs and a viewing platform which opened up access to Third Bay, to replacement stairs and furniture, and improved tracks at other beaches," Cr Robinson said.

"Coolum is one of many spots on the Sunshine Coast where our residents and visitors enjoy our beautiful scenery and make the most of the outdoor lifestyle.

"These projects play a dual role of improving access to this beautiful coastal strip and mitigating erosion issues caused by informal access trails.

"They're just some of the upgrades we have undertaken along the region's coastline, with more to come to ensure our community has safe access to our beaches."

The upgrades totalled $528,500, funded through council's Capital Works Program.
