Communication boards are a proven tool to support participation and interaction for children and adults with communication challenges. They can help users communicate their immediate needs, preferences and decisions through the use of visual icons and keyword signs.
Each board was created in collaboration with speech pathologists and staff who work directly with local children and families to ensure the boards reflect the needs of our community.
Our goal with these boards has been to make our parks and community spaces more inclusive by supporting different ways of communicating.
