How you can contact council over the festive season

Sunshine Coast Council

There will be some changes to opening hours for council's customer contact counters, reception desks and development services counters over the festive season.

Governance and Customer Service Portfolio Cr Ted Hungerford said customer contact and development staff had so far responded to almost 300,000 inquiries from our community in 2018.

"Traditionally council's customer contact staff have opened our counters and reception desks between the Christmas and New Year period, however visits from customers were minimal," Cr Hungerford said.

"Caloundra, Maroochydore and Nambour counters and reception desks will be closed on December 27 and 28, however residents and visitors will still be able to council via phone, email, web chat and web call back."

Customer Contact counters and the Planning, Building, Plumbing and Development Information counters in Maroochydore and Caloundra will be closed from 2pm on Monday, December 24.

Customer Contact and reception counters will reopen on Monday, December 31.

Development phone inquiries on 5475 PLAN (7526) will be redirected to Customer Contact on December 27, 28 and 31. Urgent inquiries will be addressed and non-urgent inquiries will be responded to from January 2.

Residents can also access development information online in real time at developmenti.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au.

The Development Information counter at Maroochydore will reopen on Wednesday, January 2 and the Caloundra counter will reopen on Monday, January 7.

Plumbing inspection bookings can still be made during business hours by phoning 5475 PLAN (7526).

To report an urgent issue, you can call council on 5475 7272 any time of the day or night.
