Human Remains Discovered in Wildwood Shooting Probe

Homicide Squad detectives have this afternoon found human remains as part of their investigation into a shooting in Wildwood last week.

The yet to be formally identified remains were found around 3pm covered in grass on Havelock Road in Clarkefield.

The coroner has been advised and a postmortem will occur in due course.

The discovery follows an incident where a 37-year-old Meadow Heights man was allegedly shot following a dispute with the occupants at a property on Wildwood Road about 7.20pm on 19 August.

A 56-year-old Wildwood man was arrested on 20 August and charged with one count of intentionally cause serious injury.

Detectives will now consider alternate charges following the results of a postmortem.

Police believe the parties involved were known to each other.
