Human Remains Located Appeal At Herberton

Detectives from the Tablelands Criminal Investigation Branch are appealing for public assistance following the discovery of what is believed to be a teaching skeleton in Herberton.

On 5 June, Herberton police responded to reports bones had been located during excavation works on John Street.

Investigations to date have indicated that the remains are believed to be from a teaching skeleton.

Police are appealing for anyone who knows of any residents who lived on John Street prior to the 1980s or has information relating to the historical use of teaching skeletons in Herberton.

There are no suspicious circumstances.

Investigations are ongoing.
