A crime scene has been established following the discovery of skeletal remains in bushland at Hervey Range yesterday, Queensland Police say.
Police were notified by a member of the public hunting near Hervey Range Road around 4.30pm and are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
Officers guarded the scene overnight with detectives and scientific officers in attendance to continue investigations.
The remains are today undergoing forensic testing to ascertain the identity of the deceased.
