Human remains located in search for Leann Lapham

In April 2010, 30-year-old Leanne Lapham went missing from an Innisfail Hotel, Queensland Police say.

After seven years of extensive investigations, Ms Lapham’s former partner Graeme Colins Evens was arrested and charged in February 2017.

On Tuesday he pleaded guilty to her manslaughter and interference with a corpse in the Cairns Supreme Court.

This morning, police and the State Emergency Service began searching the dense bushland on private property on Cowley Beach Rd, about 20 kilometres south of Innisfail.

Around 9:30am, human remains were located at the site.

The remains will be carefully extracted and a Scientific analysis will be conducted to determine whether they are the remains of Ms Lapham.
