Police have positively identified human remains that were located in bushland in the Southern Highlands earlier this month. About 2pm on Saturday 16 December 2017, a member of the public alerted police after finding skeletal remains of a person in bushland north of Lake Alexandra. A crime scene was established and was examined by specialist forensics officers. Results of a post mortem examination conducted in the following days has positively identified the remains of a 52-year-old woman from Bowral. The woman was reported missing from her home in June 2017. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death are ongoing.
