CFA members from ten different brigades attended to a call on the Hume Freeway northbound near Byawatha.

The truck, carrying breakfast cereal amongst other items, was alight between Boralma-Rutherglen Road and Robbins Road. It was reported at 5:26PM last night, creating quite a spectacle for those on their way home from work.

Members and resources from Bowser, Killawarra, Eldorado, South Wangaratta, Sprinhurst, Tarrawingee, Wangaratta, Wangratta North and D23 Headquarters attended the incident, with seventeen different CFA vehicles attending the scene at various times. CFA's involvement wasn't complete until after midnight.

Victoria Police and VicRoads attended as a part of traffic control, and closed parts northbound of the Hume for over four hours.
