Two people have been charged after police located and dismantled an alleged hydroponics setup inside a home at Peakhurst today, NSW Police say.

Strike Force Grassy was established by the Redfern Region Enforcement Squad to investigate the supply of cannabis across Sydney.

Just before 9.30am today, Strike Force Grassy officers executed a search warrant at a home on Clarke Street.

A 40-year-old man was arrested when he allegedly attempted to flee the premises, while a 48-year-old woman was arrested inside the garage.

Police allegedly located 111 cannabis plants in a hydroponic set up in four rooms of the house.

The plants and other items were seized for forensic examination.

The cannabis plants have an estimated potential street value of $418,000.

The man and the woman were taken to St George Police Station where they were both charged with cultivate prohibited plant (commercial quantity), and use/consume/waste etc. electricity without authority.

They were both refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court tomorrow.
