Today, the Commissioner for Public Employment has published the redacted version of the Confidential Investigation Report into allegations about the conduct of former Independent Commissioner Against Corruption Michael Riches.

The report is available on the OCPE website hereso Territorians can see the findings for themselves while witness privacy and legal obligations are protected.

The Inspector of the ICAC independently terminated the investigation on public interest grounds.

We acted immediately to release the redacted report once the oversight process concluded.

Five of eight allegations were substantiated, and four constituted breaches of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act (PSEMA) and the NT Public Sector Code of Conduct.

An acting ICAC Commissioner remains in place.

Governance and leadership training is being strengthened across the NT Public Sector.

Our Budget confirms $6.6 million for the ICAC in 2025-26 showing a clear commitment to an effective, properly resourced integrity agency.
