ICAC Launches Inquiry Into Transport for NSW Allegations

The NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) will hold a public inquiry starting on Monday 14 July 2025 as part of an investigation it is conducting into an allegation concerning Transport for NSW (TfNSW) employees (Operation Wyvern).

The Commission is investigating whether, since 2012, TfNSW employees partially and/or dishonestly exercised official functions by awarding contracts to, or favouring, companies on the TfNSW: safety barriers panel; asphalt panel; line-marking panel; bitumen and spray sealing panel; and traffic control panel, in return for benefits.

The general scope and purpose of this public inquiry is to gather evidence relevant to the allegation being investigated for the purpose of determining the matters referred to in section 13(2) of the Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 1988.

Chief Commissioner the Hon John Hatzistergos AM will preside at the public inquiry, and Counsel Assisting the Commission will be Mr Rob Ranken SC and Ms Gráinne Marsden of Counsel.
