Ice-cream heist turns sour for two youths, SA

Two teenagers have been arrested for breaking into a school canteen at Torrensville overnight, according to SA Police.

At 11.00pm, Friday 1 September, police were called to a school on Ashely Street after notifications of an alarm activation in the canteen.

On arrival, police found the canteen doors were open and a lock had been broken on an ice-cream freezer.

Cordons were quickly set up around the school officers locating two teens a short time later on the grounds, allegedly carrying a bag containing 21 ice-creams and a multi-tool.

A 15-year-old boy from Underdale and 14-year-old girl from Torrensville were arrested charged with being unlawfully on premises, aggravated serious criminal trespass, two counts of property damage and theft.

Both were bailed to appear at the Adelaide Youth Court at a later date.
