Ignite your career passion

The IGNITE Youth Careers Expo will go into overtime to help youth across the city choose their dream career.

For the first time Logan City's Council's annual career extravaganza will be open to 7pm to give patrons more time to see the more than 60 exhibits.

Nearly 4000 people attended IGNITE in 2018 and with its expanded format is sure to draw an even bigger crowd.

Exhibitors include private and public employers, universities, technical trade educators, Defence Force recruiting, private education providers and student support services.

IGNITE Youth Careers Expo provides the perfect opportunity for students, job seekers and career changers of all ages to connect with organisations for guidance, clarity and opportunities.

In keeping with the laid back feel of the event there'll be an IKEA Chill Out Entertainment Zone and entertainment by Raw Dance Company, the KingStones, Caleb Caswell, Chris Connelly and Tokyo Twilight.

"IGNITE is Council's way of ensuring that people have all the knowledge they need about the career pathways available to them," Director, Organisational Services Robert Strachan said.

"We hope the fun and interactive nature of IGNITE inspires them to explore their career options and reach their personal potential.

"The extended opening hours will also allow for parents and those who may already be employed to come along and see what opportunities are out there."

School students from across Logan and other Council areas will be taking part but IGNITE is also open to the public.
