Illawarra Businesses Shine at State Awards

The Illawarra business community shone last night at the state's biggest business awards hosted by the NSW Business Chamber at Luna Park.

In front of 920 guests at the gala event, including Premier Gladys Berejiklian, 12 winners of aligned categories at the 2018 IMB Bank Illawarra Business Awards competed against other winners from across the state for top honours.

Corrimal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, headed by its President Chris Atlee, won the Local Chamber of Commerce category which recognises the efforts of these important grass-roots organisations in supporting their members to maximise their business potential.

 Sarah Nolen (Birdblack Design) – Outstanding Young Entrepreneur

 Warrigal – Excellence in Innovation

 Internetrix – Excellence in Export

 Itree – Outstanding Employer of Choice

 Greenacres Disability Services – Excellence in Workplace Inclusion

 Green Connect Illawarra – Excellence in Social Enterprise

 IOH Injury and Occupational Health – Excellence in Business

 Boab Services – Excellence in Small Business

 Molenaar + McNeice – Start Up Superstar

 Kylie Moffitt (PhysioHealth and Sports Injury Clinic) – Outstanding Business Leader

Illawarra Business Chamber Executive Director Adam Zarth said that the excellence of the region's business community was well represented on the night by a strong field of finalists.

"We are exceptionally proud to field such terrific Illawarra businesses to compete at our state awards," he said.

"To have Corrimal Chamber of Commerce crowned as local chamber of the year in 2018 shows the depth, excellence and passion of our local chamber movement in the Illawarra."

Corrimal Chamber of Commerce President Chris Atlee said that he and his team were excited and humbled to be recognised at such a prestigious event.

"I want to highlight the fact that we are all volunteers who form a grass roots

movement to support our local businesses in the northern Illawarra."
