Images released in Sydenham train assault appeal

Police are seeking assistance from the public after a man was allegedly assaulted inside a train carriage travelling between Sydenham and Redfern last week.

About 8.30am on Wednesday 5 October 2022, a 30-year-old man was approached by an unknown man before they become involved in an argument and the man was assaulted.

The unknown man was last seen running up the stairs at Redfern Railway Station. Police were notified and commenced an investigation.

Officers attached to the Police Transport Command have now released a description and images of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being of African appearance, aged between 20 and 30, of medium build, with short brown hair in dreadlocks.

He was wearing black pants, a black hoodie, a green jacket, and black headphones.
