Statement on impact of latest COVID-19 restrictions on Council facilities and services

The latest easing of COVID-19 restrictions by the Victorian Government means increased community access – subject to stringent conditions - to a number of Nillumbik Shire Council facilities and services, in the coming days and weeks.

Starting today, Council playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor gymnasiums will reopen.

Remember, however, that the mandated physical distancing requirements remain in place.

We ask those who use these facilities to follow the recommended health and safety measures – including use of hand sanitiser - in the interest of their own families' health and safety, as well as that of others.

Any outdoor gymnasium equipment should be cleaned before and after use.

Training for various community sporting activities is currently allowed, but must be outside, non-contact and non-competitive, in groups up to 10. From 11.59pm Sunday 31 May, this number will increase to 20.

Council is exploring the best ways in which other facilities may best be opened under the current restrictions.
