Important contribution to ICAO from Saudi Arabia to support civil aviation capacity-building in States

To support ICAO's need for voluntary contributions from its Member States,  to supplement their assessed contributions as signatory States to the Chicago Convention, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recently confirmed a USD 1,000,000 donation for ICAO to help needful countries improve their compliance with ICAO global standards for civil aviation safety, security, and sustainability.

The donation was delivered personally to ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar, during the ongoing ICAO 41st Assembly, by H.E. Eng. Saleh bin Nasser bin Alali Aljasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of Saudi Arabia.
Directly supporting ICAO's longstanding No Country Left Behind initiative, the generous contribution from Saudi Arabia will help further assure that as States' ICAO compliance improves through new assistance and capacity-building initiatives, so too will the socio economic benefits they derive from increased international air connectivity.
