The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is investing $3 million towards upgrading Fortescue Bay Road on the Tasman Peninsula.
This project is part of our $72 million Roads to support Tasmania's Visitor Economy, the first ever tourism roads-specific investment program that ensures Tasmania's reputation as a premium destination is protected.
Work will begin on Monday, 14 October 2019 to improve the condition of Fortescue Bay Road, which is one of the most popular routes for visitors accessing the Three Capes Track.
These upgrades include re-gravelling, improving drainage and installing guideposts and signs along 12 kilometres of Fortescue Bay Road, from the Arthur Highway to the Parks and Wildlife Service Tasman Peninsula Field Office and Visitors Centre.
These upgrades will improve the travelling experience for the growing number of visitors to the Tasman Peninsula.
Work is expected to be completed in early 2020.
