Inaugural Shine Festival of Light postponed due to Covid

Lismore's inaugural Shine Festival of Light has been postponed until May next year due to COVID-19, Lismore City Council's Manager of Liveable and Active Communities Tony Duffy has announced.

"We know this is disappointing for the community who were looking forward to seeing Molesworth Street and its laneways illuminated over four nights with artwork, as well as the local artists who have been working hard on their innovative artworks, but we must put the safety of our community first," he said.

The festival was to be held between 19 and 22 August 2021 but was postponed to October due to COVID-19. It will now be held on 6 and 7 May, 2022.

The Festival program includes light installations, large scale projection mapping, shadow puppetry, interactive technology, and video works with the festivals aim to support and showcase Lismore's unique artists, both emerging and established.
