Shellharbour City Council will mark International Women's Day 2026 with a community morning tea celebrating this year's global campaign theme, Give to Gain.

Women from across the region will gather at the Shellharbour Civic Centre from 9:30am on Friday, 6 March 2026, for an event that highlights leadership, diversity, and the many contributions women make to the community.

Bella Leone from i98FM's Breakfast Show will guide the morning's proceedings, with two panels showcasing a mix of emerging and established women from a range of fields who are shaping local and regional initiatives.

The program will feature a special session with 'Interview Boss' podcast creator and i98FM journalist Emma Smith, who will share her expertise on top interview tips, helpful resources, and the power of networking.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said International Women's Day remains an important opportunity for the community to come together and recognise women's achievements.

"Each year, International Women's Day gives us a chance to celebrate the diverse stories and strengths of women in our community," Mayor Homer said.

"By focusing on inclusion, we continue working towards a more supportive and equitable Shellharbour for everyone."

The panel will highlight many inspirational women whose contributions are helping build a more inclusive future.

• Anna Glynn - Award winning, Dharawal based Australian artist with an upcoming exhibition at Shellharbour Airport.

• Rebecca Dunning - Shellharbour's 2026 Athlete of the Year and nationally acclaimed stand-up paddleboarder.

• Bronwyn Anderson - Shellharbour City Council's Team Coordinator of Bushland Management and environment enthusiast.

• Flora Lepouras - Shellharbour City Council's Executive Manager of Corporate Governance and Risk.

• Janine Hamilton - Award winning leader of Priceline Shellharbour and passionate fundraiser.

• Suzi Clapham - Proud Muruwari woman and dedicated educator spanning a 36-year career.

• Tahlia Bonanno - Shellharbour's 2026 Young Citizen of the Year, dedicated to supporting local youth in agriculture and sporting programs.

• Margaret Fletcher - One of Shellharbour City Council's young leaders, currently acting as the Engineering Works Manager.

• Maddy Phillips - Community advocate and emerging leader.

• Kyarlee-Rose Clulow - Proud Gamilaraay woman and 2025 NAIDOC Young Achiever of the Year.

• Zali Milthorpe - Illawarra Academy of Sport Rugby 7s athlete.

• Ally Thomas - Founder and designer behind 'Malia the Label, and owner of 'Thirroul + Co'.
