Indecent Assault Charge, Heathwood

Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following investigations into a woman being indecently assaulted in Heathwood on 3 March.

It is alleged at 6.20pm on 3 March, a man indecently assaulted a woman on a bus travelling along Parkwood Drive.

The matter was immediately reported to police and Sherwood officers arrested the man on the bus several minutes later.

The 34-year-old Heathwood man was subsequently charged with one count of sexual assaults.

The matter is expected to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court on 24 March.

Acacia Ridge CIB Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Simon Ball said police are urging anyone with further information or interactions of a similar nature to come forward either directly to police or anonymously to Crime Stoppers.

"Offences of this nature are brazen and will not be tolerated by investigators," he said.

"We commend the woman and the bus driver for taking immediate action to report this matter to police.

"If anyone has information to assist this investigation, or has experienced interactions of a similar nature, we encourage them to reach out to us."
