Indecent assault charges in South West Sydney

A man has been charged over two alleged indecent assaults on trains in Sydney’s south west.

About 5.10pm on Wednesday 7 September 2016, a 35-year-old man boarded a train at Fairfield Railway Station, NSW Police say.

He walked through the train and sat next to a 29-year-old woman, before allegedly indecently assaulting her.

The woman moved away from the man and the incident was reported to police.

About 6.30pm on Saturday 24 September 2016, the same 35-year-old man boarded a train at Merrylands Railway Station.

He sat near a 26-year-old woman before allegedly indecently assaulting her while she slept.

The woman woke up and left the carriage, reporting the incident to police.

About 6pm yesterday, police from Police Transport Command attended a home in Fairfield and arrested the 35-year-old man.

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with two counts of assault with act of indecency.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on 28 October 2016.
