Indecent assault in Hurstville

Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman was indecently assaulted by a man in Hurstville overnight, NSW Police say.

A 25-year-old woman told police she was walking between Hudson and Wright Streets, Hurstville, about 10pm today, when she saw a man walking towards her.

The man grabbed her and indecently assaulted her before she was able to break free and scream for help.

The man ran away when a resident came to investigate the woman’s cries.

Police from St George Local Area Command attended and are investigating the incident.

The woman has been taken to St George Hospital to be checked as a precaution.

Police now wish to speak with a man who is described as being of Asian appearance, aged about 30, 170cm tall with black hair. At the time he was wearing long black pants and a long-sleeved dark shirt.

Investigators are appealing for anyone in the vicinity of Hudson and Wright Streets about 10pm, and who may be able to assist, to call Hurstville Police or Crime Stoppers.
